GLP-1 Nutrition Support

Your medication changes your appetite. What you eat decides how well your body copes with it.

Personalised nutritional therapy with Becki Hawkins BSc (Hons), mBANT, CNHC, for anyone prescribed GLP-1 medication, currently taking it, or coming off it.

Eating less shouldn’t mean eating badly

When your appetite drops, getting enough protein, fibre and key nutrients gets harder, not easier. Fast weight loss can take muscle with it. Side effects like nausea and constipation can make food feel like a chore. And the stage almost nobody plans for is what happens when treatment stops.

That’s where I come in. I don’t prescribe medication or replace your prescribing clinician; I work alongside them. My job is making sure your nutrition keeps up with your appetite, your muscle and nutrient levels hold, and the habits you build last beyond your final dose.

You won’t get a crash diet or a generic meal plan, and you’ll never be sold a supplement stack you don’t need.

It covers the markers most affected when food intake drops: vitamin D, B12, folate, iron and ferritin, magnesium, zinc, omega-6:3 ratio, HbA1c and blood sugar regulation, a full cholesterol and lipid profile, and liver and kidney function

Your GLP-1 Nutrition Questions

FIT Nutrition & Testing Clinic provides nutritional therapy only. This service does not prescribe, supply or recommend any medication. Always follow your prescribing clinician's advice.

Q: Do you prescribe GLP-1 medication?

A: No. I’m a registered nutritional therapist, not a prescriber. I support people who have been prescribed medication such as Mounjaro (tirzepatide) or Wegovy (semaglutide) by their GP or a private provider, and I work alongside your prescribing clinician rather than replacing them.

Q: How much protein do I need on Mounjaro or Wegovy?

A: There’s no single number. It depends on your body size, age, activity levels and health history, which is why your target is set individually in your consultation. Getting it right matters, because protein is one of the main tools for protecting muscle while you lose weight.

Q: Why am I constipated or nauseous?

A: Both are common side effects. Eating less often means eating less fibre and drinking less fluid, which can make constipation worse. Changes to what, when and how you eat often help. Persistent or severe symptoms should always go back to your prescriber.

Q: Do I need vitamins or supplements?

A: Not automatically. Eating less can leave gaps, but the only way to know is to look. The Metabolic Health Check shows where your levels actually sit, and I only recommend supplements where there’s a reason to.

Q: Is hair loss linked to GLP-1 medication?

A: Hair shedding has been linked to rapid weight loss and to low intakes of protein, iron and zinc. Checking your levels and adjusting your diet is part of the plan. It’s also worth mentioning to your GP.

Q: How do I avoid regaining weight after stopping?

A: Appetite tends to return when treatment stops, so the time to plan for it is before you get there. Every package includes guidance on this, and FIT GLP-1 Complete includes a dedicated plan for coming off treatment.
